The Mayor and Council would like to inform town residents of the upcoming February meetings and invite resident participation. All meetings are held at the Town Hall, located at 118. N. Main Street, and begin at 6:00 pm unless otherwise noted. Public comment is part of all meetings and all meetings are videocast on Zoom. Please note the meeting held on Tuesday due to observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday.
February 5, 2023 Strategic Planning Meeting – Mayor and Town Council will review the progress of town projects and initiatives.
February 6, 2023 Monthly Business Meeting – Mayor and Town Council will recognize this month’s bicentennial community and legacy honorees, receive a budget and capital projects update from staff, and follow up to the January 23, 2023 special meeting on election reform and proposed districting.
February 21, 2023 Monthly Workshop – The Mayor and Town Council will receive the 2022 town annual report, receive an update of the town-wide water meter replacement project, and provide an update on election reform and proposed districting.
February 28, 2023 Joint Meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission – Rescheduled from January 31st. Items for discussion include the comprehensive plan update.
Bicentennial Update – Bicentennial Kickoff on Saturday, March 4th. This free community event is scheduled from 11 to 2 pm at the Federalsburg historical society and features a scavenger hunt, food, music and the unveiling of the 13 decorated sturgeon that will be placed around town.
Bicentennial Festival on Saturday, May 20th – This free community event is scheduled for 2 to 9 downtown. We are working on times for all of the events that day. Items include food, a parade, live music, rides and the Federalsburg Floatilla on the Marshyhope. Stay tuned for more details!
Bicentennial Gala will be held on Saturday, September 23rd at Northwest Fork dock downtown and will feature an evening of dinner and dancing on the river. This is a ticketed event and more details will be forthcoming.
Our last official event is our Bicentennial Farewell on Friday, December 1. This free community event will contain our annual tree lighting, Christmas market among other things.
